AFS Technologies solutions deliver tangible business benefits by:

Increasing Customer Satisfaction and Sales

AFS Technologies focuses on the needs of food companies dealing in weight-based perishable products. The ability to buy, pack, cost, price, sell and report products using multiple methods at the unit, case, pallet and lot level is inherent within our solutions with full absorption costing. This applies from the earliest part of the purchasing process throughout sales, plant floor operations, warehousing, delivery, customer invoicing and financial and regulatory reporting. This accurate, real time information, gives your sales department the confidence to make customer commitments and provides the rest of the organization with the tools to efficiently deliver on that promise!

Sales people know what is (or will be in inventory) so they can sell the right product and quantity at the right price and margin. This results in a higher order completion rate, more lines per order, fewer short deliveries, and better customer satisfaction.

Push items can be identified through the easy to use order entry screen to help move product.

Customers can place and you can deliver last minute orders past the current cutoff and make the normal truck run instead of either losing the sale or sending another truck at a loss to maintain customer satisfaction.

Price lists and order guides match meaning the price on the sales order matches the price sheet which can be emailed or faxed automatically.

Standing substitutions minimize shortages or unacceptable substitutions.

Available automatic email notification alerts sales reps to cancelled order items so that customers can be contacted and suggested substitute items.

By accurately capturing demand, purchasing can buy and the plant floor can cut to meet real demand to ensure accurate purchasing with lower overbuys and minimal lost sales.

Improving Plant Floor Operations and Employee Efficiency

Through integrated information systems, sales orders are sent electronically to the production floor in real-time by department/operation or by pick list. This increases cutting and packing efficiency. Raw materials are pulled from inventory in the exact amounts needed to meet wave, route and order requirements. The integrated solutions offer a real time interface with wash down computer stations complete with interfaced scales and bar code labeling for accuracy & tracking for COOL (tracking by lot, item and wild or farm raised designations), HACCP, Bioterrorism Act, and all USDA requirements. ADC (Automated data collection) using bar code scanning is employed throughout.

Load checking at the dock provides automated verification at truck loading that all products produced and picked are on the proper truck to match what was ordered and produced with what is shipped and billed. This prevents orders from being loaded on the wrong truck or that require “out of process handling” from missing the shipment and becoming “not on truck” inventory.

Because ADC (Automated data collection) using bar code scanning is employed throughout, there is far less inventory shrinkage and theft.

Improving Warehouse Operations and Employee Efficiency

Using scanning, employees can cycle count and verify the accuracy of the entire freezer’s contents and verify inventory in the cooler in minutes instead of hours due to the tracking of real time inventory.

Scanning minimizes unknown losses and shortages between periodic counts.

Providing Streamlined Regulatory Compliance

Tracking by lot, item and vendor for compliance with COOL, HACCP, Bioterrorism Act and USDA using bar code labeling and scanning.

Eliminate the need to keep separate regulatory records to maintain compliance.
