Phoenix, AZ, November 13, 2013 – AFS Technologies, Inc. recently attended the GS1 Standards Event in Lisbon, Portugal, to participate in forward-thinking discussions surrounding the most widely used supply chain standards system in the world. The conference provides a semiannual forum for the top thought leaders in the global Consumer Goods community to convene regarding new standard developments to continually improve the efficiency and visibility of supply and demand chains.
One of the most critical subject matters at the GS1 Standards Event revolved around the imminent implementation of the new Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) release. GDSN 3.0 will mark the organizations first major release in a decade generating significant changes to current global standards, including product packaging hierarchies. The new product packaging hierarchies in the upcoming 3.0 release are a direct result of the proposal by AFS Technologies’ own Milan Vacval.
During the GS1 Standards Event, Mr. Vacval, Vice President of the AFS solution DATUM™, addressed both GDSN users and trade item implementation groups about the impending product packaging hierarchy changes and why initiating preparation efforts in advance is mission critical. As an active participant in the GDSN Standards Management Group and its Trade Item Implementation subgroup, Mr. Vacval will lead the transitioning process of product packaging hierarchies into the new standard on behalf of GS1/GDSN.
