AFS Technologies Successfully Implements ERP and Order Management Solutions to Expand Texan Foodservice Distributor’s Efficiency and Effectiveness
PHOENIX – October 7, 2016 – AFS Technologies, a leading global provider of software solutions purpose-built for consumer goods companies, announced the successful go-live of its AFS™ ERP and AFS™ Order Management System (OMS) for Laptop and Web with Scarmardo Foodservice, a foodservice distributor, part of the UniPro Foodservice, Inc. and focused on the Bryan/College Station, Texas, area.
AFS ERP system is designed for the food and beverage industry to manage critical business processes. AFS OMS complements the ERP system and streamlines the order management processes into one consistent set of forms and data—which are easily accessible by order-takers, sales representatives and customers.
As an existing customer of AFS, Scarmardo was satisfied with the service they experienced, but they needed to modernize their existing software to leverage the capabilities and benefits a newer technology can offer.
Implementing a new ERP system is not easy, as it is the backbone of the company. In order for Scarmardo to manage its day-to-day activities, an implementation plan was developed to ensure smooth operations within the existing ERP system while defining and building the new version. This is challenging when only a handful of people are able to work on the project. Once a path was defined, AFS and Scarmardo worked together to implement both the ERP and OMS quickly–and the system went live within six months.

Within a month of going live, Scarmardo began to see benefits from the new AFS OMS, such as achieving consistent profitable orders and also increasing the sales team’s efficiency with automated tasks such as tracking commissions and altering the price or margin based on the weekly rate.
